Fair Winds B&B - perfectly positioned in South Devon
The Agatha Christie Connection - right on our doorstep
With Agatha Christie’s Greenway being practically on our doorstep, Fair Winds is a great base from which to visit this wonderful piece of history but going by the quickest route is not always the most interesting option.
The most beautiful way is on Greenway Ferries flagship Fairmile. Fairmile is itself an historic vessel which has been lovingly restored. Take the boat from Brixham Harbour and steam past some of South Devon’s most beautiful coastline. You may see some dolphins.
Coming by sea into Dartmouth is a most memorable experience.
There are some amazing photo opportunities, make sure you have your camera handy.
You then take the Greenway ferry upriver to Greenway Quay and from there you go back in time.
Another very special part of the Greenway Fleet is Barnaby Bus, a green 1947 Leyland bus. One of the boarding places for Barnaby is a few minutes from Fair Winds. The bus takes you down part of what is known as the “Agatha Christie Mile” through some stunning countryside and on to Greenway.
You can also drive but a parking space must be booked in advance and with the other options available you might just want to leave the car behind.
